Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko today to congratulate him on the country's historic 2024 elections.  Secretary Blinken applauded the people of Botswana for their commitment to democracy and for utilizing their collective voice to shape the future of their nation.  The Secretary and President Boko reaffirmed the importance of the strong U.S.-Botswana partnership, grounded in common values and democratic principles.  They agreed to work together to advance economic prosperity, public health, regional security, and environmental conservation.
